Why Pensive

A pensive day on the trails behind my home in Guelph, Ontario – one of many I have enjoyed this past year. These trails have been my escape from the isolation we unknowingly plunged into.

Pensive

When I was looking to find a name for my blog, nothing came to me at first. I thought of unique words that’d help my work stand out.

Being the Harry Potter fan I am, I thought of Albus Dumbledore’s pensieve – A magical tool through which a person could go back to their memories. Dumbledore used it to lighten his mind when his head was swimming with thoughts. Sometimes, he ventured through them to learn and derive new meanings from what had occurred.

I endeavour to do the same.

pensive – engaged in, involving, or reflecting deep or serious thought

Pensive moods are where most of my content emerges. Like Albus, I too venture down what has happened and draw lessons from it. Frequently, I unload my thoughts onto here to lighten my mind and in the hopes, that a reader may relate to what is on my mind.

That is my reason for choosing ‘pensive’

Reflect. Learn. Grow.

Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.
